Our mission is to network women…but it was so much fun to hear that Womeninc actually brought a man and a woman together. Here’s the email I received from Linda Friesen.
Hi Kay,
I have been reading and enjoying (and spreading the word) about Womeninc since the beginning. I started receiving complimentary magazines and enjoyed them so much that I have subscribed for a couple of years now. But my real reason for writing is to say thank you to Womeninc for it is because of your article on Morgan Creek Vineyards in August of 2006 that I met and fell in love with a wonderful man. We will be married less than 2 weeks, August 29. I had heard about Morgan Creek but after reading the article about it and Jazz Night, I started asking some of my friends if they were interested in going on August 5, 2006. So my friend Meri Schumacher and I went to our first Jazz Night. We goat a table that was big enough to seat six people (the only one available). So when a group of 4 people (3 of whom we knew) stopped to talk to us, we asked them to join us as no other tables were available. We had a wonderful evening of wine, food, music and conversations/laughs. It turns out the 4th person in the group sent me a little note about a week later, thanking us for sharing our table and asking if I would be interested in going out sometime? The rest is history! So Dan Weber and I will be married and we have Womeninc to thank. We have talked many times that a lot of things fell into place that day for us to meet. I know I wouldn’t have been there if I had not read your article, so thanks again! Keep up the good work.

Plans to Celebrate!
It is hard to believe, but we’ll be celebrating the 5-year anniversary of Womeninc in 2009 and we’re already making plans for an eventful year. In addition to the 6 issues of Womeninc and our 6 special editions, here are some of the things we’re looking forward to in 2009.
- For the adventurous at heart a trip to Belize with Jules Nolan is being planned.
- Love to cook? Then you’ll look forward to meeting and learning from the chefs featured in Womeninc.
- Want a fun night out? We’re making plans for the areas largest Bunco night ever!
- Do you own a business or thinking of starting one? Watch for business roundtables in 2009. The more we network and learn from one another the better.
- And, its time for some lessons in self-defense. Learn how to protect yourself and your family.
- An opportunity for you to meet the people behind the magazine, people who have been in the magazine and our advertisers at the second annual Bringing it to Life Expo.
- The second annual Ride with Womeninc June 27 and 28, 2009.
- And, the fourth annual The Difference is You! awards program for women sponsored by Womeninc and Hawkins Chevrolet Cadillac.
